POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

 

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED TO ISTANBUL SABAHATTIN ZAIM UNIVERSITY (IZU) GRADUATES

The students, who graduate from the IZU undergraduate programs in the first, second and third places at the end of their study, are granted a scholarship in the following ways when they are accepted to the IZU graduate programs.

The student who completes her/his undergraduate education in the first place with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.50/4/00 and above does not pay the tuition fee.

The student who completes her/his undergraduate education in the second place receives 80 % discount on the total tuition fee.

The student who completes her/his undergraduate education in the third-place takes 60 % discount on the total tuition fee.

The students who complete their studies in their undergraduate programs in the first, second and third places and applied to the IZU graduate programs are given 60 % discount on the tuition fee, regardless of their CGPA.

The students who have graduated from the IZU undergraduate programs and are accepted to the IZU graduate programs are given a 50 % discount on their tuition fee, regardless of their CGPA.

 

DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIP

The students who apply to the IZU doctorate programs with a quota of at least 10 or more students and register for the program by fulfilling the scholarship application requirements (for cash scholarship, the student must not work in any job except research assistant) are granted a scholarship in the following ways.

The students who take the first and second places in the list of registered students after the final evaluation are granted 100 % tuition fee Scholarship + 2.000 Turkish Lira (TL) Cash Scholarship,

100 % tuition fee Scholarship is given to the students who come in the 3rd and 4th in the list of the registered students after the final assessment,

Other students, on the other hand, may be granted up to 50 % scholarships by the Selection Board of the relevant Department.

 

TO GET A PHD SCHOLARSHIP

To receive a scholarship, the students must have a score of at least 80 and above from Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) or (a score of 156 from GRE or 590 and above from GMAT).

Undergraduate CGPA must be at least 3.00 out of 4.00, while Master’s Graduation CGPA must be at least 3.50 out of 4.00.

If the language of instruction of the program is Turkish, the candidate must have a score of at least 70 from Foreign Language Examination (YDS/YÖKDİL) or an international foreign language score accepted as equivalent by the Student Selection and Placement Centre (OSYM).

If the language of instruction of the program is partially or completely in a foreign language, the candidate must have a score of at least 80 YDS/YÖKDİL in the relevant foreign language examination or s/he must have an international foreign language score accepted as equivalent by ÖSYM.

While calculating the candidate's overall success grade, 30% of the ALES score of the relevant score type, 15 % of the undergraduate CGPA, 15 % of the Master's Graduation Grade Point Average, 10 % of the Foreign Language Score and 30 % of the written exam grade are taken into consideration. The candidate's “General Achievement Evaluation Score” must be at least 85 out of 100.

The tuition fee is not charged for the students who come from the Founding Foundation Academy Development Scholarship Program and who stay in the IZU dormitory. If the student does not choose to stay in the dormitory or if the dormitory is not available, the dormitory fee is not paid to the student.

 

MASTER'S SCHOLARSHIP WITH THESIS

The students who apply to the IZU Master’s programs with a quota of at least 15 or more students and register for the program by fulfilling the scholarship application requirements (for cash scholarship, the student must not work in any job except research assistant) are granted a scholarship in the following ways.

The students who take the first and second places in the list of registered students after the final evaluation are granted 100 % tuition fee Scholarship + 1.500 Turkish Lira (TL) Cash Scholarship,

100 % tuition fee Scholarship is given to the students who come in the 3rd and 4th in the list of the registered students after the final assessment,

Other students, on the other hand, may be granted up to 50 % scholarships by the Selection Board of the relevant Department.

 

TO GET A MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIP

To receive a scholarship, the students must have a score of at least 80 and above from the ALES or (a score of 156 from GRE or 590 and above from GMAT).

Undergraduate CGPA must be at least 3.00 out of 4.00.

If the language of instruction of the program is Turkish, the candidate must have a score of at least 70 from Foreign Language Examination (YDS/YÖKDİL) or an international foreign language score accepted as equivalent by the Student Selection and Placement Centre (OSYM).

If the language of instruction of the program is partially or completely in a foreign language, the candidate must have a score of at least 80 YDS/YÖKDİL in the relevant foreign language examination or s/he must have an international foreign language score accepted as equivalent by ÖSYM.

While calculating the candidate's overall success grade, 40% of the ALES score of the relevant score type, 20 % of the undergraduate CGPA, 15 % of the Foreign Language Score and 25 % of the written exam grade are taken into consideration. The candidate's “General Achievement Evaluation Score” must be at least 80 out of 100.

The tuition fee is not charged for the students who come from the Founding Foundation Academy Development Scholarship Program and who stay in the IZU dormitory. If the student does not choose to stay in the dormitory or if the dormitory is not available, the dormitory fee is not paid to the student.

Islamic Economics and Law and Psychology graduate programs are excluded from the Master's Scholarship with Thesis.

 

CONDITIONS FOR CONTINUATION OF THE SCHOLARSHIP

Minimum requirements that students must meet for the continuation of Doctoral and Master's (with thesis) Scholarships are as follows:

The student must renew her/his registration each semester; s/he must meet the minimum attendance requirement of the courses they are enrolled in and complete the courses within the first 2 (two) semesters.

S/he must not take the letter grades DZ, YZ, FF from her/his courses and must have a CGPA of 3.00/4.00 at the end of the semester.

S/he must complete her/his master's thesis by the end of the 4th (fourth) semester at the latest.

S/he must not delay her/his doctoral qualifying exam to the 3rd (third) semester or s/he must not fail the doctoral qualifying exam.

Failure to defend the thesis proposal within six months following the doctoral qualifying exam or the rejection of the thesis proposal of the student by the Thesis Monitoring Committee,

Not submitting the report to the Doctoral Thesis Monitoring Committee, not attending the thesis monitoring meeting or rejecting the thesis monitoring report.

Failing to complete the doctoral thesis until the end of the 8th (eighth) semester at the latest,

The student who receives cash scholarship must submit the document from the Social Security Institution to the Institute Secretariat at the beginning of each semester to certify that s/he is working. No cash scholarship payment is made to the student who does not submit this document in the relevant semester.

If a student who receives cash scholarship is suspended/considered on leave, no cash scholarship payment is made for the relevant semester/year.

The cash scholarship of a student who receives cash scholarship is terminated as of the date of employment in any institution. If the student is given a cash scholarship after the date of employment, this amount is refunded to the University.

Cash Scholarships are not awarded in the Foreign Language Preparatory Class, as well as in the Scientific Preparation Program.

Doctoral and Master's (with thesis) Scholarships are awarded only within the normal education period of the relevant program.

In case of disciplinary punishment (except warning and reprimand), cancellation of registration or graduation, etc. or in case of dismissal from the university for any reasons, Doctorate and Master's (with thesis) Scholarships expire.

 

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INSTITUTION EMPLOYEES

Students who work for public or private institutions or organizations, with which the IZU signs an education protocol and who are accepted to graduate programs can be given a discount of up to 40% on their tuition fee. An additional 10% discount can be made for group registrations of at least 10 people
