About us

IZU Halal Food Ar-Ge Center of Excellence Istanbul Development Agency started its activities by receiving project support under the Innovative and Creative Istanbul Financial Support Program of 2016. It is proceeding its activities by Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim coordination, Yildiz Teknik University, and Küçükçekmece Municipality’s support. IZU Halal Food center of Excellence is aiming to detect (confirm) foods that contain pork and other non-halal ingredients that are used in food industry.  Besides, it aims to have a center in Turkey where an innovative and fast technical approach will be developed to solve the problem of adulteration detection in food.  As well as detection of added substances and foods that can’t be done by existing method or it’s hard to do. With this mission it will contribute to healthy food and halal food concepts and increase our country's competitiveness in halal food market in the world. In export and import of some foods halal certificate is asked.
