New Agreements with the Leading Universities of the USA from IZU

Mehmet Bulut, Rector of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, has made a series of visits to the United States for bilateral cooperation agreements with leading universities and exchange of views.

Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bulut first met with the Rector of the University of Missouri University of Science & Technology. Rector Mehmet Bulut held a pre-interview and introductory meeting with the Vice Rector for International Relations so that the universities could cooperate closely. Later, the meetings continued with the Heads of Computer, Electrical-Electronics and Industrial Departments, and continued with the exploration of the Missouri Remote World Teaching Center, the Student Project Development Center, and the village that produced its own energy, which was peaceful with the environment.

Rector Bulut, who is continuing his talks with Missouri University of Science & Technology in the Departments of Business, Information Technology, Political Science, Psychology and English Language, held meetings about the details of 2 + 2, 3 + 2 student and lecturer exchange topics. Following the collaboration agreement, details of the roadmap for student and academic exchange, joint projects, and double degree programs were negotiated between Rector of the IZU Mehmet Bulut and Rector Christopher G. Maples and Provost Robert J. Marley of Missouri University of Science & Technology. Following the meetings, several agreements were signed between IZU and Missouri University of Science & Technology, one of the most important universities in the field of science and technology in the USA.

The second leg of US visit was at the Harvard University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, located in Sabri Ülker Research Center. Rector Bulut visited Director of the Research Center and also Turkey Academy of Sciences (TUBA) Member Gökhan Hotamışlıgil, they discussed about the science and technology field in Turkey and assessed the opportunities for cooperation between Harvard and IZU.
