Residence Permit Extension Application

Extension Application

1st Step: Make an Application

  1. Go to the following website to make an application:
  2. Click “I apply for the extension of the duration of residence permit”
  3. Click “I would like to lodge an application for renewal”
  4. Fill the application form (Make sure you write all the information right.) (Make sure you enter all needed information correctly)

2nd Step: Prepare the Required Documents

            Required Documents:

  1. Online application form (
  2. Copy of your passport (First page, the page with visa and the page which contains the entrance stamp should be copied and submitted)
  3. 4 portrait photograph
  4. Health insurance
  5. Students Certificate (You can take it from Student Affairs. Please do not forget to mention that you take it to apply for residence permit.)
  6. Address Form Click to View
  7. Receipt of the Payment for residence card – 89TL (You can either pay it online by credit card or go to any tax office.)

In case you are under the age of 18, the following additional documents should be attached to your application;

  • A consent signed by your parents (If the document issued in İstanbul, it has to be stamped from the Embassy of your country and any Governorship in İstanbul.)
  • Birth Certificate (Should be stamped by the Embassy)

3rd Step: Submit your application file

You can either submit your file to the International Office or directly to the Immigration Office.

4th Step: Take your residence permit

After receiving the e-mail, please go to the International Office to deliver your residence permit.

It may take from 1 month up to 3 months to receive your residence permit. Firstly you will receive an SMS saying that your residence permit has been sent to the address. Then when the university received it , you will be notified via student e-mail.
