Prof. Dr. Saifeldin Abdelfattah, PhD

Seifeldin Abdelfattah obtained his Ph.D in 1987 in Political Theory and Islamic Political Thought from Cairo University. During his long career, Dr. Abdelfattah held many academic positions, including as a professor at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University in 1998. He also served as the head of the Center for Political Studies at Cairo University in 2013. Since 2016, he’s been serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science at the International Tajdid University (Istanbul). Dr. Abdelfattah was a visiting scholar in many universities around the world, including the American University, Free University of Berlin, the Doha Institute for Studies, and many others. In addition, Dr. Abdelfattah contributes as a consultant, faculty member, and a referee to several Arab and international academic institutions, such as the International Institute for Islamic Thought, the University of Islamic and Social Sciences in Virginia, and Mahathir Mohamad Prize for Intellectual Creativity. In August 2012, Dr. Abdelfattah served as an advisor to the President of Egypt for Political Affairs. He has published in the field of political theory and Islamic political thought more than 15 books. In addition, he published many works in Arab newspapers, journals, and media outlets. Among his most prominent books are Political Renewal and Contemporary Arab Reality: An Islamic Vision, building standards, Islamic political heritage, and measuring corruption: The Ibn Khaldun Model, and On Political Theory from an Islamic Perspective.
