IZU PhD SCHOLARSHIP for TRAINING ACADEMICS

 Will grant 15  PhD scholarships with the aim of training academics

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Applying to a doctoral program at IZU,
• Applicants must document not being employed in any jobs,
• Applicants are expected to be willing to participate full-time in the university's educational, instructional, and research activities.
• Applicants must have a minimum score of 80 on the ALES, minimum score of 156 on the GRE, or a minimum score of 590 on the GMAT. International students are not required to submit any ALES, GRE, or GMAT scores. If applicants have GRE or GMAT scores, their application will be evaluated after converting them to ALES scores. 
• Applicants must have a minimum CGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 in their undergraduate degrees and a minimum CGPA of 3.50 out of 4.00 in their master's degrees.
• In Turkish language programs, applicants must have a minimum score of 70 on the YDS/YÖKDİL for the relevant foreign language or an internationally recognized foreign language score accepted by the ÖSYM. In fully or partially foreign language programs, applicants must have a minimum score of 80 on the YDS/YÖKDİL for the relevant foreign language or an internationally recognized foreign language score accepted by the ÖSYM.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

• Tuition and free meal
• Compulsory General Health Insurance
• For students staying at IZU Guesthouses or dormitories affiliated with the Founding Foundation: Accommodation and meal expenses
• Monthly stipend of 25.000 TL
• A total of 15 PhD students will be awarded scholarships (10 from the Natural Sciences and 5 from the Social Sciences)
• Application is open for all PhD Programs at IZU.
• İstanbul Sabahattin Zaim University and İlim Yayma Foundation will grant scholarships.
• Scholarship/Stipend will be given during the regular period of PhD study (4 years)
• In order to be entitled to the Academic Training Scholarship, the student must be accepted to the programme applied for and enrolled in the relevant programme.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

• For Turkish applicants: 25% Scientific Exam, 30% CGPA, 10% ALES, 10% Language Score 25% Interview.
• For international applicants: 35% Scientific Exam, 35% CGPA, 30% Interview
• The scholarship evaluation committee comprises two academics from IZU and one authorized member from İlim Yayma Foundation.

HOW TO APPLY?

International candidates should submit their undergraduate and graduate transcripts, language certificate, ALES/GRE/GMAT score (if they have one), and a document or statement indicating they are not employed in Türkiye to the email address ayb@izu.edu.tr by the end of office hours (17.00 - Istanbul time) on August 23, 2024.
