The education method to be applied in the 2021-2022 academic year has been determined.

As a result of the interviews and evaluations, 2021-2022 academic year will begin on Monday, October 4, 2021, with the following education method:

1. Education is to be applied in a face-to-face environment.
2. According to the Council of Higher Education's Distance Education Procedures and Principles, a maximum of 40% of undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be conducted online. Depending on the Faculty Board's decision, each Faculty will be able to use a hybrid education approach.
3. 5/i courses and elective foreign language courses will be online; IZU elective courses will be offered online, hybrid or face-to-face.
4. Midterm and final exams will be conducted face to face.
5. Masks, distances, and hygiene requirements will all be followed during the classes.
6. Academic and administrative employees, as well as students, must be vaccinated in order to limit the possibility of on-campus epidemics. This is especially important in terms of public health and safety.
7. Masks, distance, and cleanliness will be given special attention in classrooms, labs, meeting and seminar halls, and continual mask use will be provided in closed spaces.
8. Common areas within the campus will be kept clean.
9. Social activities will be carried out outdoors as much as possible.
10. The ventilation of classrooms and laboratories will be given special consideration.
11. Instead of block classes, at least 10 minutes will be given between classes, and adequate ventilation will be provided depending on the size of the hall.
12. Capacity planning will be considered in study halls and classrooms, and crowded group work will be avoided.
13. Because of droplet transmission, large halls and open spaces will be preferred over small classrooms for activities such as singing, choir work, and theatre rehearsals.
14. Air conditioner and ventilator will be turned off when people are inside as much as possible, as this may cause the spread of droplets.
15. Particular attention will be paid to the cleaning of areas that are in contact with more than one person, such as the table surfaces or door handles.

1. Precautions, the decisions to be taken by the Ministry of Health and relevant committees will all be followed regarding accommodation at the dormitories.
