CONGRESS PROGRAM

IZU GRADUATE STUDENT CONGRESS

 

Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Graduate Education Institute organizes an online/face-to-face Graduate Student Congress on 16-17-18 June 2023. The congress will allow presentations from master's and doctoral theses prepared in the fields of social, natural, and engineering sciences. Master's and doctorate students from all universities will be able to participate in the congress with their papers.

Participants who wish to participate in the congress must upload their abstracts consisting of 200-300 words prepared per the writing rules of the congress until May 28, 2023, via https://izu.edu.tr/izukong website. Writing rules and the template are available on the website. The congress is open to all fields of social, natural, and engineering sciences. The suitability of the submitted abstracts for presentation will be decided after the refereeing process. The congress will be held in three languages: Turkish, English, and Arabic. Participants can submit their papers in whichever language they will present in. Translations of the papers are not required.

Abstracts submitted to the Congress will be published as an abstract book (with ISBN) on the Congress web page.

The full texts of papers presented at the congress will be prioritized in evaluation by the journals published by IZU.

Presentations will be made online/face-to-face within 15-20 minutes. Texts that are accepted but not presented will not be given a certificate of attendance.

There will be no fee for participation in the congress.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Abstracts: The deadline for submission of abstracts of 200-300 words is May 28, 2023. Participants can write the names of their thesis advisors in their abstracts with the approval of their advisors.
However, a maximum of two abstracts from each author can be published in the congress.
Abstracts can be presented in Turkish, English and Arabic.
Abstract Booklet: Abstracts will be published as a soft copy on the congress web page as a proceedings book with ISBN.
Also, the works of the participants who want to publish their full text in refereed journals published by IZU will be included in these journals (after passing the referee process).
Acceptance/Rejection Letters: Acceptance/rejection decisions regarding the abstracts submitted to the congress will be announced on June 03, 2023 and acceptance letters will be sent to the participants.
Full Texts: Participants who wish to have their full texts published in a peer-reviewed journal should send their full texts to the peer-reviewed journals published by Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, taking into account the writing guidelines of the relevant journal. Full texts will be published after going through the referee process of the relevant journal.

The deadline for submission of full texts for publication in the congress special issues is June 25, 2023.

Presentations: The presentations will be in three languages, online/face-to-face, and will last 15-20 minutes.
Session moderators will open a session and invite the participants to join and make the presentations.
Detailed information about the online system will be shared with the participants later.
Participation Fee: Congress participation fee is not required.

 

 

Abstract Writing Rules

  • Times New Roman font should be used when preparing the abstract.
  • The title of the abstract should be written in all capital letters and in 14 pt font size, bold and centered.
  • The body of the abstract should be between 200-300 words. It is written in 12 pt Times New Roman font, justified, single-spaced, and with 6 spaces before and after.
  • Keywords should be written 1 line below the abstract in 12-point font size with the initial letter of each word capitalized. A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 8 keywords can be included.
  • In the abstract, the name and surname, title (graduate student, doctoral student, assistant professor, etc.), university, and email address of the author(s) are written one line below the title, centered, in 12 pt font size, with the author's name and title in bold, as shown in the template.
  • If the abstract is derived from a thesis, the relevant thesis information should be given as footer information.
  • No references should be given in the abstract, and bibliography should not be included.
  • These rules apply to abstract writing. Authors who wish to submit the full text should follow the writing rules of the IZU journal to which the paper will be submitted.
