prof. ismail kucuk

İsmail Küçük is currently a Professor of Mathematics, Vice Rector (2022-present) and Dean (1997-present) of Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. He received his Ph.D. (2001) and M.Sc. (1996) in Applied Mathematics from University of Utah, S.L.C., Utah and Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, respectively; and B.Sc. (1991) in Mathematics from Istanbul University, Turkiye. He joined American University of Sharjah, Sharjah, U.A.E. in 2002 as an assistant professor. Prof. Kucuk has taught undergraduate mathematics courses for more than 25 years at institutions such as the University of Utah, American University of Sharjah, Yildiz Technical University and Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. As an applied mathematician, his research interests are differential equations, optimal control of mechanical systems, continuum mechanics and computational methods. He has published over 50 refereed journal and conference proceeding papers. Additionally, Prof. Kucuk actively engages in projects for underprivileged communities.

He was born in 1957 in Bursa. In 1981, he graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics. In 1985, he became a research assistant at Uludag University. He completed his master's degree in 1986 and his doctorate in 1991. In 2002, he became an associate professor at Uludağ University. In 2008 he was appointed as a professor. Between 2007-2011 he worked at Istanbul Aydın University. Between 2012 and 2014, he worked as the vice-rector of the Bitlis Erin University. In 2015, he retired from the Yıldız Technical University. Between 2015-2017, he worked as the Director of Social Sciences Institute at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. In 2017, he was appointed as deputy dean of the Faculty of Education. He is currently the Vice Rector of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. He has publications on applied statistics, statistical analysis, multivariate statistics and theoretical statistics.

Professor Dr. İbrahim GÜNEY is married and a father of three children.

Icener - IZUProf. Dr. Erhan İÇENER graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of International Relations, in 2002. He received the UK Government's Chevening Scholarship for his master's studies in European Integration at Queen's University Belfast. He holds an MSSc in European Integration with Distinction and a PhD in European Studies (International Relations) from Queen's University Belfast. Dr. İÇENER's research focuses on European integration, EU enlargement policy, alternatives to EU membership, EU foreign relations, Turkey - EU relations and the Cyprus issue. He has authored articles published in international refereed journals such as Southeast European and Black Sea Studies, Journal of Contemporary European Studies, Perspectives on European Politics and Society, Insight Turkey and bilig: Journal of Social Sciences of the Turkic World and as book chapters. Dr. İÇENER also contributes to many national and international journals as a referee.

Dr. İÇENER has worked in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University since 2017. He was appointed as Associate Professor in 2018 and Professor in 2023. Dr. İÇENER served as the Vice Chair of the Department of Political Science and International Relations between 2018 and 2020 and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences between 2018 and 2024. He continues to act as the Chair of the Department of Political Science and International Relations and the Director of the Graduate Education

Institute, where he was appointed in 2020 and 2022, respectively. As of May 2024, Dr. İÇENER is appointed as a Vice President.

Prof. Dr. Erhan İÇENER is married and has two children.
