Rectorate

Rektör, Prof. Dr. Mehmet BulutProfessor Bulut, President of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, was born in Çanakkale in 1970. He completed his primary and secondary education in Çanakkale and completed his higher education in the field of Economics in Izmir. Between years 1994-1996, he successfully passed qualifications after taking courses at two separate doctorate degrees in two different universities located in Ankara and Istanbul. His ideal was to study “Economics and History”, so he decided to study in the Netherlands. He graduated from his second master's degree in the field of economic history in Posthumus Institute in 1998 and Ph.D. at Utrecht University in 2000. He became an Assistant Professor in 2001, Associate Professor in 2003 and Professor in 2008.

He started his academic career as a Research Assistant in 1993, continued his career at Başkent University in Ankara. He has taken part at the university as the Head Department of Economics, Faculty Board Member and Member of Board of Directors. He became the founder Dean of Faculty of Political Sciences and Vice President at Yıldırım Beyazıt University in Ankara in 2011. He was chosen to serve at the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) as a Board Member by the Rectors and the representatives of the Universities and has been appointed by the President of Republic of Turkey in 2012.

He has conducted duties as a Board Member of Directors for some public and private corporations such as Ereğli İron and Steel Co. (ERDEMİR), İskenderun İron and Steel Co. (İSDEMİR), Sollac Ambalaj Co., Erenco Engineering Co., Erdemir Romania Co., Yarımca Porcelein Co., and as a Board Member of Supervisor and Auditor for companies such as Turkish Telecommunication Co, TT NET Co. and AVEA Co.

He has been studying in fields of long term (longue durée) economic development, reasons for intercountry economical differences, performance comparisons, international economy policy, Ottoman economics and civilization, Ottoman-European-Atlantic Economic Relations, History of Economics, Economic Thinking, Financial History, Institutions, Islamic Economics and Finance.

Professor Bulut is also the member of Turkish Academy of Science (TUBA). As a visiting scholar he has been to Sweden/Dalarna, England/Cambridge and the United States of America/Harvard and Princeton/IAS Universities. His Turkish and English books have been published by various publishing houses locally and abroad. His articles have been published on various international referred academic journals such as American Journal of Economics and Sociology (AJES-New York), Journal of Economic and Social History of Orient (JESHO-Leiden), Journal of European Economic History (JEEH-Roma), Middle Eastern Studies (MES-London) and Journal for the Study of Religion and Ideologies. He got 3G Special Award for Service to Higher Education from Cambridge Analytica IF and selected among the most Successful People in Turkey by Oxford Worldwide Press in 2016.

English, Bulgarian, Arabic and Dutch speaking, Editor in Chief for Adam Academy-Journal of Social Sciences andJournal of Islamic Economics and Finance, married with three children. He is currently teaching at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.

Prof. Dr. Nasuh USLUHe was born in 1966 in İzmir. He completed his elementary education in Izmir and secondary education in Manisa. In 1988, he graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of International Relations. He got scholarship by the Ministry of Education to study abroad in the United Kingdom and received his master's degree in International Relations from the University of Birmingham (1990) and his PhD from the Middle Eastern Studies center at the University of Durham (1994). In 1995, he started working as an assistant professor at Kırıkkale University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of International Relations. In March 2005, he became an assistant professor, and in May 2010 he became professor. At Kırıkkale University, He served as vice dean between 2009-2010, Director of Institute of Social Sciences between 2010-2011 and Dean of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences between 2011-2014. After working at the Police Academy between January 2015 and August 2015, and when he passed to the Social Sciences University of Ankara, he became the Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences from October 2016 until January 2018. His main research areas are Turkish-American relations, the Cyprus problem, Turkish foreign policy, US foreign policy and Middle East studies. Besides the numerous articles published in national and international journals, he has 3 books published in the United States and  4 books published in Turkey. Also, except  for the many translated articles from English to Turkish, he has translated  six basic books in the international relations field to Turkish.

 

ibrahim güney

He was born in 1957 in Bursa. In 1981, he graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics. In 1985, he became a research assistant at Uludag University. He completed his master's degree in 1986 and his doctorate in 1991. In 2002, he became an associate professor at Uludağ University. In 2008 he was appointed as a professor. Between 2007-2011 he worked at Istanbul Aydın University. Between 2012 and 2014, he worked as the vice-rector of the Bitlis Erin University. In 2015, he retired from the Yıldız Technical University. Between 2015-2017, he worked as the Director of Social Sciences Institute at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. In 2017, he was appointed as deputy dean of the Faculty of Education. He is currently the Vice Rector of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. He has publications on applied statistics, statistical analysis, multivariate statistics and theoretical statistics.

Professor Dr. İbrahim GÜNEY is married and a father of three children.
